The things people ask first
What can PixelCinch see in my Drive?
Only the files you pick. We request the drive.file scope, which grants access to individual files you select through Google’s own file picker, plus files PixelCinch creates. It cannot list, search or read anything else.
Do my images get uploaded somewhere?
No. Your browser downloads the file from Drive, compresses it locally, and uploads the result back to Drive. The bytes travel between you and Google. There is no PixelCinch server in that path.
What happens to files that are already small?
They are skipped. If compressing an image would save less than 3% — or make it larger, which happens with flat-colour logos — PixelCinch tells you and writes nothing.
Can I overwrite the originals?
Yes, that is one of the output options. It cannot be undone by us, so keep a copy of anything irreplaceable. The default is safer: a new file alongside the original.
What does the free plan actually include?
Every feature. Shared drives, HEIC, any file size, all output formats. The only limit is 100 images per calendar month.
